We have talent, do you?
Drama Club puts on another successful Talent Show
Abraham Lincoln High School’s student’s excellent performance shined on Feb. 2, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the annual talent show. All of the students work hard to perform their very own talents in front of dozens of people.
The talent show consisted of different talents. The show included singing, dancing, acting, musicians, and even impersonations. As usual, the majority of the talent show was singing and dancing, a scene acted out, and one impression.
Although the talent show was not as good as I had expected, there were quite some interesting parts. I expected everyone to have wonderful talent, and that the music would not get in the way of people’s singing, but it was not that great and the music got in the way of people’s singing a lot.
A scene from Neil Simon’s “Barefoot In the Park” acted out by Brandon Yu and Kim Schagane was quite interesting. Their great acting kept the audience’s attention. Even when there were wardrobe malfunctions, the actors kept going along like there was nothing wrong. They kept in character throughout the whole play no matter what happened. Although it was not the whole play, it actually got people laughing.
Chris Schachern with his celebrity impersonations was great! He got the audience laughing for a long time. He went from our president George W. Bush to our Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Schachern had great jokes and great impressions.
There are also some more great acts from the talent show, like the Lincoln B Boys (break dancers), who once again shined with their great talent. It was even better then before; they mixed their dances with a little bit of different styles, including the robot and real break dancing. They kept everyone entertained the whole time.
The crowd cheered as dancer Winfield Ye came out at the beginning and it was quite interesting. His arms looked very cool against the stage light. But as he got further into the dance, it got boring it was the same repeated moves over again.
Overall, the impression of the talent show was not that great for the first one I have been to in my whole life. I expected everyone to be very talented and have great acts for the show. Turns out everyone was not extraordinary, but the drama club still put on a fun and interesting show.
