Advancement after finite math isn't so infinite

Looking forward to going to Pre-calculus while still in algebra two finite? Well, those odds are about as good as me winning a game of Connect Four in only three moves. The only class you can take after algebra two finite is probability and statistics.
Many students do not know that being in algebra two finite will take away their chances of entering precalculus. Many were shocked and afraid of being placed into the class. This is the first year that algebra two finite has been in the curriculum.
From an interview, I learned that a student who wished to remain anonymous was not aware that being in finite will cause his next math class in senior year probabilty and statistics.
“It isn’t fair that only people in advanced algebra can go,” he said. “Why can’t finite? It’s just slower.”
He explained that he is even learning faster than normal classes.
“It’s like being in a honor class,’ he said.
After hearing that he would not be going to pre-calculus, he was worried. His grades weren’t even bad for him to be placed there; he was a B and C student in geometry.
There are three things that determine whether you are going into finite; One way is if you do bad in class. Another way is that you do bad on the placement test or you are recommended to be into that class by a teacher.
It’s the placement test that determines whether you be placed into finite. Some students have C’s in geometry and are being placed into finite.
