Pajamas banned?! The reason for the banning at Abraham Lincoln High School assistant principal Kristin Cacal said, “Ms. Cacal wanted to be mean.” Actually it is about all students who wore pajamas to school in previous years. The staff’s reasoning opposes with student’s thoughts about this issue.

ALHS dean Anthony Crivello view on this issue is that wearing pajamas are not proper for school. As for Joel Balzer’s view on the students wearing pajamas: “If he had his way, Lincoln students would wear uniforms,” Balzer said.

The real reason behind the banning was that “too many students started to wear pajamas” said Cacal. A similar statement said during an auditorium meeting at the beginning of the school year is stated again to justify her statement.

“We don’t want students to wear clothes that will be distracting from the work that needs to get done,” though her opinion on this issue is, “Pajamas are not appropriate for school. Plus, I’m worried about students falling asleep while doing their work.”

There is an alternative given by English teacher Paul Camelli. He jokes that if you really want to wear pajamas, wear clothes over the pajamas. Then when the teacher isn’t looking, flash your pajamas to your peers and then cover yourself up again. Even though pajamas are banned from normal school days. Since it’s still fine during spirit week, pajama day still exist, states Crivello.

So will pajamas be allowed ever again? Since Cacal joking said “Ms. Cacal wanted to be mean,” maybe when she wants to be nice the ban will be lifted.
