Lincoln’s girls varsity basketball team started strong and confident as their season began. The team knew their compatibility of what was possible and showed they could do it well. As their season started, practices hit hard everyday after school. Our basketball players were coming in two hours everyday and even on Saturdays. They train hard, working their game to the very best and running drills.
“I think that our practices will really help us throughout the season,” junior Erika Thieu said. “Jason teaches us a lot of new things and he’s a really good coach.”
The team’s basketball coach Jason Lee has been coaching the game for eight years. He coached at other schools, and then came to Lincoln. It is obvious that he has been doing a good job since the varsity team began the season and yet has not been defeated. They’ve played a total of three games so far and it seems that our athletes have a very good chance of going quite far this year.
“I think we have a good chance in making it to the finals this season if we keep working together as a team and working harder.” Thieu said.
The girl’s basketball team has two new players this year; freshmen Vivan Ho and Hallies Meneses. The two freshmen have contributed much to the game, such as providing excellent defense going quick and guiding opponents. They also score many points, helping the team win their games. The girls were very welcome on the team, and the family. Through all the practices and games, they’ve supported each other and created a very close bond.
“Our team bonds really well together, everyone gets along on and off the court. We all have a good time.” Thieu said.
