Octoberfest doesn't fail to meet expectations

Zoom in

From tossing pie at the Drama Club’s members to the goody bags that the Black Student Union sold, the Octoberfest allowed all the clubs to come together.

But due to the rainy weather, Octoberfest was postponed to a week later than planned. As the day of Octoberfest started, it was undecided where it will take place. Finally it was agreed that Octoberfest will be held indoors rather than outside. Usually, it happens outside where there is fresh air and there is more space to walk around. As it began around 12:30pm, Lincoln students began to fill the hallways. It later became too crowded to even get through. It became sweaty after anxiously searching around, trying to find which clubs had the most delicious foods and drinks.

Students also tried to find the clubs they attended, in order to by support them by buying what they sold. Octoberfest wasn’t such a big success as some thought it would be, especially since it slightly changed this year.

“It was really crowded, and it felt hot in the hall,” sophomore Elizabeth Randell said. Many other students agreed that Octoberfest should have happened outdoors. That was a common reason that many students disliked this year’s Octoberfest.

Even science teacher Mr. Talawaski agreed saying, “I wish it was outdoors this year. The weather has turned us down. But it would have been pretty nice if it would have been outside.”

He also agreed that it felt quite cramped in the hall. Others felt that the weather didn’t spoil much of Octoberfest.

“It’s really big right now, everybody’s coming out to support the B.S.U. We’re doing it big!” senior David “Doom” Henderson said. He also mentions that “it feels kind of sad since it’s [his] last year here at this school.”

But many students continue to have in mind what the Octoberfest truly represents, despite the indoor and cramped conditions.

“I love Octoberfest because everyone comes together, all the clubs, and everyone has fun,” said junior Ariel Timmons.
