Lincoln mustangs show school spirit at rallies
Abraham Lincoln High School students of all grade levels competed for the spirit stick on Oct. 16 to 20. The entire week during lunch, students competed in a variety of games to win points for their class. There were also spirit days where students, staff, and teachers dressed up according to what was scheduled for each day of the week.
Monday was the senior’s day to host the rally and they played “The Dating Game,” where one contestant would be the date that four other contestants would compete for the dream girl and guy. In the first round four girls competed against each other to win the dream guy. In the second round four guys competed for the dream girl. By the audience’s reaction the seniors won.
Day two of spirit week was the junior’s turn to host their games, the Cracker Crunch and Chocolate Milk Maker. In Cracker Crunch, classes competed against each other to see which class could eat their whole row of crackers quickest, and the freshmen ended up winning. The Chocolate Milk Maker game contestants from each class competed by making chocolate milk in their mouths, spitting it back into their cups, then drinking it after the cup filled up. The sophomores took first place after a close tiebreaker round with the seniors.
On Wednesday the sophomore class hosted two games for their rally, Feed Me and Eat My Diaper. In Feed Me, two contestants from each class participated by having one student blindfolded, feeding his partner the mystery food, then guessing what food they ate.
Thursday was the freshman lunchtime rally that consisted of two games, Water Relay and Chocolate Chaos. The seniors won the Water Relay and the sophomores took first place in the Chocolate Chaos game, after spilling chocolate syrup all over shirts and faces.
