Praising God or Praising yourself?

Who says we need a religion? Some people don’t have one and that’s just fine. Someone can’t just force you into believing in something you really don’t believe in. Sometimes having a religion is worse then not having one. In my own opinion, I think people with religions have too many beliefs. They believe in doing things a certain way and sometimes expect you to do the same too. Don’t you ever feel like you’re wasting time in church praying to god? You sit there thinking, “Why am I here? I could be out with my friends right now.” I’ve had some experiences where my friends couldn’t go with my somewhere because they had church to go to. I think it’s pretty dumb at times, why can’t you skip one day of church? It’s just one day, you could be out doing something more fun and not have to do the same thing every week.
Life does not always rely on believing in a god, you can always believe in yourself and everyone else around you. They can guide you through your life and help you when you need it. Besides that, you feel more free when you don’t have a religion. You don’t have something in your conscience saying to you, “Oh no, I can’t do this I will be punished by god!”
Religion can stop people from many things like eating. Muslims has that time of year where they have fasting. They can’t eat some foods for a certain amount of time. I wouldn’t starve myself like that, plus it can be unhealthy. I don’t want to risk my life just because of a certain religion I believe in.
If you did something wrong would you go and sacrifice yourself just because of one little thing? For example, like in Aztec religion, you have to sacrifice a person to the god. Does god really mean that much to you that you would let another person die just to please the god? To some people god really is worth more than a friend. But can god really be there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on?
Not everyone has a religion. Having one just limits you from doing a lot of things in life that people without religions can do. Why believe in things that other people believe in and what other expect you to believe in when you can follow your own goals and do what you want?
