No Love for the Tennis Team

Many Tennis Players Frustrated

When school is over, many students go home, the mall, or maybe to their friend’s house. But there are still students in school, chasing after yellow balls while, swinging their rackets of wicked shots and swerves. Tennis is one of many great and adrenaline rushing sport that you can find in Lincoln, where you can have plenty of enjoyment and exercise. Grab a friend or two and play tennis on the court making new friends and also while having fun and relieving stress.

There are misconceptions about tennis. Many students may think the sport is only about swinging the racket at the up coming tennis ball, hard as you can over the net into the opponent’s side. Guess what? It’s not. I tried to play tennis thinking it as a larger version of ping pong. First swing made the tennis ball fly over the 50 feet fence making me having to pay the tennis ball’s owner for the ball. This game is about concentration, stamina, speed and curving the ball making it harder for the opponent to hit it back.

With 6 courts last year, the tennis team didn’t have enough courts for the trail out. It’s going to be harder to practice with more then 8 people, since we have so much people, it will be kind of hard to fit all the people in court even if we played Doubles.”

Although sadly, it may be difficult for many people to play on the tennis courts now because of the Lincoln high school construction.

By moving the bungalows, the constructors had to move the basketball hoop stands to the tennis court leaving about two courts very limited for tennis players to practice.

Sophomore named Alvin Ly said “With 6 courts last year, the tennis team didn’t have enough courts for the trail out. It’s going to be harder to practice with more then 8 people, since we have so much people, it will be kind of hard to fit all the people in court even if we played Doubles.” Many tennis players will wonder what will happen to the tennis courts in the future and best we could do is to hope that the loss of tennis court will not affect the sport of Lincoln tennis!

Even with many people, I suggest for you readers to join tennis to learn how to play have great excitement and the rush of playing game and hopefully by having many people in tennis, the tennis court will increases.
